Creating a Profile

proiv dashboard

A profile is a vital part in the PROIV dashboard. The profile consists of the configuration settings of the PROIV components that specify your application. The profile that comes with the installation is the 'default' profile and is issued with the Base configuration. All the components in the default profile are deployed (enabled) by default and you can view them in the BASE DEPLOYMENT page.

You can add any number of profiles to the Base configuration, for example, if you want to establish separate environments for developers and testers, you can create two profiles with names DEV and TEST in the Base configuration and setup the configuration as required. The profile is represented with a name format [<configuration name>-<profile name>]. As soon as you create the profiles DEV and TEST, they are named as Base-DEV, Base-TEST and are added to the DEPLOYMENTS page. The components for the profiles remain in an undeployed state until you manually deploy them by turning ON the slider.

Similarly, you can add any number of profiles to another configuration. For this, you must first add a configuration and then create a profile for that configuration. The profiles are then added to the DEPLOYMENTS page and you can deploy them as per your business requirement.

To add a Profile:

  1. Click the configuration name, for example, Base and then click the Add button next to the Profile box.
The New Configuration Profile window appears.

  2. In the Profile Identifier box, enter a name for profile.

  3. To use the configuration settings from an existing profile configuration, in the Duplicate from existing profile drop-down list, choose a profile.

  4. Click Add.
The Profile is added to the configuration to the Base configuration.

To delete a Profile:

  1. Select the profile you wanted to delete and click the Delete button next to the Profile box.
    A confirmation message appears.

  2. Click Yes to confirm.
The profile is removed from the configuration and as well as from the list of DEPLOYMENTS.
