What is PROIV Aurora? |
PROIV Aurora integrates the Aurora Framework a highly flexible application framework, with the power of PROIV to create a customisable browser-based desktop. This allows you to deploy PROIV applications in browser-based environment, and enables you to pull information and data feeds from multiple sources. Consequently, you can create a secure, easy to use workspace from which you can view RSS feeds, open and run PROIV applications and view different types of graphical information. PROIV Aurora enables you to easily set up all the information you need and access it from a customisable, intuitive workspace. |

How do I integrate an alternative PROIV Security and Menu system with Aurora? |
PROIV Aurora is supplied with a PROIV Security and Menu system, but in the event that you want to interface PROIV Aurora to another third party Security and Menu system, particular tasks and functions require implementation. How do I use my own Security Profiles with Aurora Security Menu Framework? |
The visibility of the majority of the Dashboard components, Panels and Containers is based on the concept of a Security Profile. The third party security system must provide PROIV Aurora with its Security Profiles in order for the systems to function with each other. For further information, refer to the Security Profile Functions Overview topic. |
How do I define Action Controls in Aurora to ensure the icon displays correctly? |
If you have created a new Action Control in PROIV and want to display the icon in Aurora, it is recommended that you follow the steps in the Toolbar Icons topic. |
'Feed Not Available' message appears in a Dashboard Component |
The message can be caused by different incorrect settings. Perform the following troubleshooting process to identify the erroneous setting: check the web proxy settings, ensure the password is correct etc. on the Maintain Web Proxies screen. Click Refresh icon on the component to see if the feed works correctly. If not, check that the correct proxy is set against the data feed on the Maintain Data Feeds screen. Again click the Refresh icon to see if your changes have solved the issue. You can also check that the correct data feed is set against the Dashboard component on the Maintain Components screen. |
How do I change the look of Aurora to match my company's branding? |
Aurora's look and feel can be highly customised to match your company's branding. You can change the appearance of objects by configuring them in css files. For further information, refer to the Rebranding Overview topic. |
How do I stop or start the Aurora Service if it was not installed as service at installation time? |
Aurora is installed by default during PROIV installation. Use "PROIV V8 Client Services" to start or stop Aurora service. Note: PROIV V8 Client Services consists Aurora and OpenClient services, hence if you start or stop PROIV V8 Client Services, OpenClient service will also take effect. |
How do I set up distinct Aurora datasets for multiple divisions of my company? |
In Aurora it is possible to create multiple company/division codes (Co/Divs) which provide access to discrete datasets by using URLs containing the Co/Div information. For further information, refer to the Multiple Co/Divs Overview topic. |
I have created a Menu Option but I cannot see it in Aurora? |
If you cannot see the Menu Option that you have created, check the Security Profiles Maintenance screen and ensure that the E (Enabled) flag is set against the Menu Option. |
How do I prevent users accessing Aurora on a Friday afternoon to allow system maintenance to occur? |
Use the Access Profile Maintenance screen to restrict access to the time of the day (up to three different time bands in any one day) as well as the day of the week (access can be denied for a complete day without having to specify a time.) This is an optional extra level of security that can be assigned against Security Profile. |
