You access this tool by clicking on the Logic Search/Replace icon in the List Based Tools tab of the Tools tab.

This tool enables you to search for and replace a text string in the logic of a list of Functions or Global Logics. Depending on the search and replace criteria selected you may search for sub-string or words in logic statements, quoted text, logic comments or any combination of these.

Replacing Logic Text

The criteria selected will be applied to all Function and Global Logic objects in the list. During processing, each object is booked out to ensure that it cannot be opened for edit or processed by another tool. On completion the object is booked in again.

There are options to document the changes and to apply the changes.

This tool should be used with caution, as it is very easy to corrupt logic by misusing it. It is recommended that an initial process run should be made with the ‘Document Changes’ option turned on and the apply changes option turned off. This will allow potential changes to be reviewed before the logics are actually altered.

Due to the inherent danger of misusing this tool, is not available by default. You may need your system administrator to enable access for you in the Project Details screen.
