Configuring Performance Monitor Connection

You can configure Performance Monitor Connection in the OpenClient to set the URL for the Performance Monitor web services to interact with the OpenClient server. The OpenClient application will use the configuration that is defined by the performance monitor to which it is connected and facilitates you to generate, analyze and view the performance data.  

The default connection attributes when grouped forms an URL and act as a link between the OpenClient server and the performance monitor application; however you can modify as required.

To modify the connection configuration:

  1. Open PROIV Control Panel.

  2. Click OpenClient and then expand Configuration.

  3. Click Performance Monitor.

  4. The following table lists the default values; however, you can modify as required.

    Description

    Protocol

    Http: Hypertext Transfer Protocol is the standard method of transferring data between a web browser and a web server using plain text communication.

    Https: Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure is a form of the HTTP protocol where the data is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) before it is transferred between a web browser and a web server.

    Host Address

    Enter the host name where the PPM web services will be hosted, for example, your local machine or another server.

    Port

    The port on which the host is listening for a client connection. The default port number is 8801. You can modify the port number that listens to http request.

    Context

    The name of the physical folder where the project reside. The default value is 'PerfMon'. This makes a connection URL of http://localhost:8801/PerfMon

  5. Click Save Connection.
    A message appears prompting you to restart the PROIV services to activate the change.
