In Dynamics view, Statics view and File view, each object shown has a corresponding select box at the far left of the screen. When you click an object’s select box, the box turns blue to indicate that the object is selected. Clicking the box a second time de-selects the object.

If you select an object that has children, all of the children are also automatically selected. For example, if you select a screen cycle that has two cycles nested inside it, all three cycles and all their screen components are selected. (File accessors are selected in the initial dynamics view, even though you cannot see their individual select boxes). However, you can then de-select individual objects within the parent structure and so, for example, create a fragment that comprises the parent cycle and only one of the nested cycles.

To select all objects in the function, check the Select All box at the bottom of the column of select boxes.

Having selected the objects that will make up the new clipboard fragment, click the Copy Selected Object(s) to Clipboard icon on the toolbar to copy the fragment to the current active clipboard slot. If, instead of clicking the Copy icon, you click the Remove Selected Object(s) and Place on Clipboard icon on the toolbar, the selected objects are deleted from the current function before being placed on the clipboard.

If you have already got something on the clipboard and you don’t want to overwrite it, you must select an alternative clipboard slot, see Managing Clipboard Slots.
