Operating System

Default Installation Directory

Windows 2000 / XP / Vista

C:\Program Files\Northgate\PROIV Version [n]\Client Administration

SPARC Solaris 2.x

This directory is provided for your to store your cab files.

Directory: webapps/root/images

This directory contains images used by the Client Administration server.

The Configuration files

The following sections outline the configuration files within the WEB-INF directory. This is the default location for these files, when the Client Administration is installed as a Web Farm these files will be located as per installation.

web.xml - This xml file contains the alias definitions available to any pages deployed by the Client Administration server. It also contains the security definition used to secure URLs deployed by the server.

xooEncodings.ini - These files are part of the Active Web server used to deploy the Client Administration and they should not be modified under any circumstances.

proxies.xml - This file contains the proxy definitions currently configured in the Client Administration. The Manage Proxy Connectors section should be used to make changes in this file. When the Client Administration is initially installed this file is empty. During use of the Client Administration admin console any changes made to the file cause backups of the original file to be created in the backup directory, each backup file is time stamped with the time of the change.

webclient.xml - This xml file is the main repository for the service, palette and font definitions configured by the Client Administration server. Just as with the proxies.xml file, a time stamped backup of the webclient.xml file is created in the backup directory prior to any changes being made.
