The PROIV Client provides an end user’s interface, which the application developer can configure as desired. The end user’s interface is a subset of the developer’s interface and is similar to the developer’s interface in that it shares many of the same menu selections toolbar s, and property sheets. This section describes each end-user interface menu bar selection and refers you to the developer’s interface section for detailed descriptions on common toolbar s and property sheets.
To enable the User Runtime Interface:
-
Select the Edit menu. Select either the Default or Session Properties menu options depending on whether you want to apply the interface to all users or for the current session only.
-
Select the PROIV Virtual Machine Server Platform. The default selection is Microsoft Windows.
-
Select the Activate User Runtime Interface option in the Functional Preferences section.
Enabling the User Runtime Interface option removes the access to the Default Properties menu option on the Edit menu. It also limits the range of available options on the PROIV Session Properties window to runtime functionality only. This setting supports password protection, consequently you are asked to enter a password twice and these entries must match. The password is encrypted and stored in the PIV.
This password is then required to reinstate access to the Default Properties menu option and the full set of options on the PROIV Session Properties window.
