Insert Mode

This mode is only active in a paging screen and, if the file is auto-sequenced, it allows a record to be inserted at a selected position in a file. If the file is non auto-sequenced, records are added in key sequence.

Insert mode is similar to Add mode, except that it allows you to insert records in front of other records in the file. First, position the cursor on the record that is to follow the inserted record(s), then type the number of records to be inserted, and finally press INSERT. If only one record is to be inserted, it is not necessary to type a number.
