The Application Development Process

PROIV is an application development tool that facilitates the creation, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of business applications.

An application is generated by specifying the application requirements to PROIV. These definitions are entered online using a set of predefined facilities which allow you to set up files, their associated data and to create and maintain functions (programs).

For every application PROIV produces documentation for all the files and functions from the information you have entered. This documentation is available for printout on demand.

PROIV provides a multi-level system security facility. This allows developers to define user access to files (or specific data items) and functions (including menus). The Administrator will maintain this facility.

PROIV also provides a variety of tools to aid the developer (for example, copy, rename and delete facilities, file/function cross references, etc).

All the information associated with a developed system is stored in PROIV control files. These control files are accessed whenever the user executes an application.
