Displaying and Printing Screen Reports
You can select a specific Windows application to display screen reports. This allows greater flexibility in displaying, formatting, printing, and storing the generated report. When a PROIV report is generated, it will be downloaded to the PC, where the specified application opens the report. You can then format the report manually (or automatically if the application supports a macro or programming language) before saving the report to disk or printing it to any Windows printer.
-
Select the report program either by selecting the application executable file itself, or by specifying a File Type for the report. The settings will be stored in the PROIV.INI configuration file.
-
If you selected an application to use, after the report file has been created, the selected application will be called, which will load the report file. If you select a File Type for the report, a temporary report file will be created with the specified extension. The application that is associated with that File Type is brought up and the document loaded.
-
If the entries above are not specified, the default operation is to use notepad.exe as the selected application.
-
To maintain current functionality, the current view window can be brought up by specifying ‘none’ for the report application.
Examples of entries in the PROIV.INI file [Settings] section are shown below:
ReportEditor=c:\Microsoft Office\Office\winword.exe
ReportFileType=DOC
