Defining Codesets in PROIV
Before going about the task of localising a system, a system administrator must consider these important questions:
-
Which codeset will be used to store the data?
-
What applications will use the data?
-
What systems will data be exported to?
When you install the PROIV Windows Client, the installation program allows you to select the language components to be loaded. The setup detects the operating system and sets up the proper codeset pages. The components install the DLL for the language you select during installation.
¾ CAUTION ¾
In order to view and manipulate data as the characters you expect, you must specify the proper codeset. If you specify the wrong codeset, the data can be corrupted.
