- Opening Forms Designer

Forms Designer can be selected from the PROIV Developer toolbar which is available in the Structure, Dynamics, Events and Static views.

Two modes of operation are supported within PROIV Developer for invoking Forms Designer:

Whole function: By having no current selection within Structure or Dynamics View all cycles will be uploaded to Forms Designer.
Part Function: Any selection within the Structure or Dynamics view will result in the outer most cycle (parent) being located and sent with all child cycles to the Forms Designer.

Part function can be much faster to use as less data is being transferred between PROIV Developer and Forms Designer.

If the error message "Forms Designer host services not available." appears your PROIV environment has not been configured to work with the Forms Designer.

Opening a Function

There are three methods used to open a function for designing and editing its forms:

When the Forms Designer is connected to a project dictionary the Open actions automatically start the Function Browser.

If the Forms Designer is not connected to a dictionary the Open actions invoke a Directory Browser for the local machine.

Error messages will be displayed if there are problems associated with loading a function.
