PROIV Naming Conflicts

Use the name analyzer tool to validate all the names of the PROIV objects within a development area and identify those that violate the selected naming level restrictions. This displays a list of PROIV objects which either have illegal characters (File System Safe) or are duplicated by one or more objects of the same type (Strict) - for example, 'OPEN_Function' and 'open_function' will result in a name conflict. Refer to Naming Level Restrictions for more information.

To retrieve the list of conflicting files:

  1. Click Tools tab, on the General Tools, click Object Naming Conflicts.
The Bulk Object Name Validation screen appears.

  2. On the Name Rule list, the default value is File System Safe. However, you can change it as required.

  3. Create a list of objects to process using the selection options available; click Advanced to build your list with your criteria.
The list of objects from the bootstrap area appears.

  4. Click Close.

  5. Click Process and click Yes to confirm.
All filenames are validated and conflicted objects appear, if any.

  6. Click Save to store the files as a Saved List or Work List

    • To add the files to a new list, click New List

    • Enter the description

    • Select Append or Re-Create the lit of files

    • Click OK

  1. Click Cancel to exit the screen.
