Introduction

This chapter provides a general overview of the PROIV Developer File Definitions - Developer Guide and describes the intended audience.  You will also find a summary of the contents of each chapter, along with the typographical conventions used in this guide.

Purpose

The PROIV Developer File Definitions - Developer Guide is intended for PROIV programmers.  The guide introduces the PROIV Developer File Definitions and explains which attributes can be directly maintained. It describes how Helper Functions must be run after changing certain file attributes in order to maintain data integrity. It shows which attributes must not be maintained directly. It also describes the other deliverables (apart from this document) that are required to allow maintenance of PROIV Developer data outside the PROIV Developer development environment.

The following is a description of the PROIV Developer File Definitions - Developer Guide’s contents:

  • Overview defines the purpose, contents, and reader conventions used in this guide.

  • PROIV Developer File Definitions Overview describes the functionality that is offered to enable maintenance of PROIV Developer data outside the PROIV Developer development environment. It describes all the deliverables, and explains restrictions.

  • Function Definition describes the PROIV Developer File Definitions that hold function related data. The File Definitions are included, and attributes that must not be maintained directly are shown, along with dependencies, and instructions on running Helper Functions.

  • Function Tables describes function related data that should always be maintained by Helper Functions. This is for information only.
