Before creating an Operator, you must create an Operator Group:

To create an Operator Group, follow these steps:

  1. Click New Task Selection Icon icon. The Menu screen appears.

  2. Select the Security Menus option.

  3. Select the Operator Groups option.

  4. The Operator Group screen appears

  5. Click New .

  6. The Add Operator Group window appears.

  7. Complete the fields using the following table as a guide:

Description

Group

Enter the name of the Operator Group.

A8 - Mandatory

Description

Enter a description of the Operator Group.

A40 - Mandatory

Operators

Displays the number of Operators assigned to the Group.

Defaults to ‘0000’

Status

Select a Status from the drop-down list.

A (Active)  I (Inactive)  S (Suspended)

Only one Group can be active for an Operator at a time, although they can have multiple Groups made available to them.

Mandatory

In this procedural example, set the Status to ‘Active’.

Security Profile

Select a Security Profile from the drop-down list to assign to the Group. It determines what Menu Options are available to the users.

Mandatory

In this procedural example, set the Security Profile to ‘Aurora’.

System Title

Enter a title that appears at the top of all menus in Green Screen mode.

Default Printer

Click the to display the Associate Printer Profiles with Operator Group screen. Click Printer Profile drop-down list to display a list of printers, select one and click the Add . The printer is now the default printer associated with the Group. If you want to associate multiple printers to the Group, repeat the selection process. To change the default printers, select the printer that you want to make the default and click the Default . The details of the default printer are displayed in the UserInfo bar, e.g. setting it to Print to Screen changes the Information Bar to display the following:

In this procedural example, set the default printer to the Printer Definition you created in the Creating a Printer Definition section.

Save

Click to save the Group details.

Cancel

Click to close the Add Operator Group screen and discard the details.
