Configuring Data Retention Settings

The data retention feature in PPM allows you to set the length of time that performance data is maintained in the database. Data older than the retention time will be automatically removed from the database. You can configure the custom retention period as a number of hours; a trigger is executed to automatically cleanup the records which have exceeded the retention time.

To configure the retention time:

  1. Open PROIV Control Panel.

  2. Expand Performance Monitor and then expand Configuration.

  3. Click Data Retention & Export.
The Data Retention and Export page appears.

  4. Enter the Retention time in hours and click Save.

Note: The system default retention time is 60 hours. However, you can configure the number of hours in the range of 1 to 316.

Exporting APDEX and Transactions

The Export Data to CSV File feature allows you to export and archive PPM data. This may be useful if there is a need to retain data older than the retention period.

Export Transactions

You can export the transactions recorded in the Performance Monitor database to Comma Separated Value (CSV) file. Click Export Transactions to download the csv file. The file is stored as a zipped archive in the specified location. Extract the zip file to a folder to view the files.

Export APDEX

You can export the APDEX data to Comma Separated Value (CSV) file. Click Export Transactions to download the csv file. The file is stored as a zipped archive in the specified location. Extract the zip file to a folder to view the files.
