Importing Profiles

The Profile Import utility provides a simple way for you to import PROIV profile objects from a directory containing JSON files which were exported using the Profie Export utility from the same or a different machine. Refer JSON Export and Character Encodings other than UTF-8 for additional information.

When you run Import utility in PROIV Developer, you can specify the full directory path or select individual files.

The following files can be imported:

·         PROIV Operators, these files will have a .p4op extension and will contain all operator related data.

·         PROIV Projects, these files will have a .p4pr extension and contain all project related data.

To import file(s):

1. Click the Tools tab, on the System Administration Tools, click Profile Import.
   The Profile Import screen appears.

2. To select the objects for import, do the following:

Field	Description
Directory/Path	For a clean installation, by default, the PROPATH directory appears. The value in this field determines the configuration which is set in the Default Paths. You can also browse the path and select the required file.
Profile Type	This will be "Operator" or "Project", the default is "Operator".
Profile Objects	This will be a list of available PROIV Profile objects. This list is generated based on your Profile Type, which is either Project or Operator.
Select All	Selects all the PROIV operators (p4op) or projects (p4pr) files that are present in the Directory/Path.
Delete	Deletes the selected objects from the list.
Delete All	Deletes the list.

3. Click Import.
   The Import process completes and a message appears to indicate success or failure.
