PROIV Client

In Version 6, the PROIV Client supports Unicode UTF-16 code set while the kernel supports the UTF-8 codeset. Therefore a default code page conversion process occurs when communication occurs between the client and kernel. A widening process occurs when the kernel sends data to the client, converting the data into the Windows Native code set of UTF-16. Similarly, when the client communicates the kernel, a narrowing process occurs, converting the data from UTF-16 into the UTF-8 code set supported by the PROIV Virtual Machine.

However you may want to set up alternative code conversion configurations on the Regional Settings option, to deal with other conversion issues between the kernel and the client.

  1. Select the Regional Settings option.

  2. Select the resource file in the Regional Settings section.

  3. Select the conversion method from the Conversion Method drop down list. No Code Conversion is the default option.

Warning: Changing the server code page can cause corrupted communications to PROIV Virtual Machine.

  1. Select the server code page from the Server Code Page drop down list.
