Property Sheets

DEVELOPER

Tabbed property sheets are attached to dynamic and static screen components such as icons, edit boxes, check boxes and list boxes, to file definitions and File Accessors, to control breaks, to the various types of cycle and to complete functions. Single page property sheets are attached to variables, Function Keys and drop-down menu items.

Throughout PROIV Developer, you can double click an object to open its property sheet, or highlight an object and click the Properties for Current Selected Object icon on the PROIV Developer toolbar.

Up/Down Arrowing in Property Sheets

When opening property sheets from within views (but not using the grids) up & down arrows are visible at the bottom left. The arrows can be actioned by clicking or through the keyboard by entering Alt+U for 'Up', and Alt+D for 'Down'. Actioning one of the arrows will open the property sheet for the next or previous object in the structure determined as follows:

The next/previous object property sheet will open on its leftmost (i.e. default tab).

This behaviour is modified if a tab was explicitly selected (i.e. clicked) in which case it is ‘remembered’. The property sheet will open on the ‘remembered’ tab unless it is invalid for the next/previous object. In this case the property sheet opens on the leftmost (i.e. default) tab and the ‘remembered’ value is cleared.

The ‘remembered’ value is also cleared if the property sheet is exited by clicking the ‘ok’ .

The Function header property sheet is not included in the up/down arrowing behaviour.

In the structure view up/down arrowing is not supported for static objects.
