ActiveX Gallery

DEVELOPER

You access this tool by clicking on the ActiveX Gallery icon in the General Tools tab of the Tools tab.

To use ActiveX objects in PROIV functions, PROIV needs to know what ActiveX controls (ocx files) are available, and what properties, methods and events are associated with the objects.

The purpose of the Gallery is to scan your PC for ActiveX controls, which can then optionally be saved as PROIV ActiveX objects on the PROIV server.

The Gallery only needs to be run from one PC. Once the PROIV ActiveX objects are defined, all developers using that server and environment can access the ActiveX controls without using the Gallery. However to run a function containing an ActiveX control it must be installed and registered on the client PC.

When you click on the ActiveX Gallery Icon, the scan of your PC starts immediately. Depending on how many ActiveX controls are on your PC, and the speed of your PC you may have to wait for several seconds before the scan is complete. You will know that the scan is complete when a list of ActiveX controls appears in the Client tab.
