PROIV Client |
The client can retrieve graphic files from the internet that cannot be located in the default image directory. (The default image directory is configured in the Appearance Settings option...Directory containing Images field.) The client first searches the default directory for the image file. If the image file is not found, and the appropriate entries are specified in the PROIV.INI file, the client will search the URL specified in the URL for image downloads field. If the file is found, the client downloads it, based on the selected Download Preferences and stores it in the specified download destination. The cache is refreshed.
Regardless of what you set in the Download Preferences section, an attempt to download a specific file is performed only once per session.
-
If the file download attempt is successful, it is stored in the local cache directory. Subsequent attempts to access the file results in the cached file copy being used.
-
If the file download was unsuccessful, it is flagged as unavailable and no further attempts are made to download the file.
If an image file was updated on a website after the client software has attempted a download (whether successful or not), or verified that the locally cached file is current, the image change is not reflected in the PROIV Client until client program is exited and restarted.
To configure the image download internet settings:
-
