PROIV web services run in an application server to provide an interface for external applications.

This diagram shows how the web services provide the interface. Note the following:

  • A web service will accept connections from multiple applications.

  • A web service can use more than one connector.

  • A PROIV connector uses a gateway to access a PROIV application.

  • A Java connector accesses Java classes only on the web services application server.
