The usage of each Task parameter determines whether an updated value is passed back from the PROIV Task to the calling program.

For non-mainframe use, there is a maximum size of just under 64 kilobytes for the total size of the parameter string (expressed in length-prefixed stream format; see Length-Prefixed Stream Format). Currently there is a limit of 2000 bytes for each parameter.
