Changing the text in Open Client

How do I customise the Open Client text or internationalise it?

  1. Make sure you have an appStrings folder in the appResources folder in your application folder. If not, copy the appStrings folder from the appResources folder.

  2. The Messages.properties file contains all the text that can be displayed in the Open Client that does not come from the application. This comprises error messages, user messages, and the Date Picker. You can change any of the text in your own version of the Messages.properties file.

  3. To internationalise the text, you can use other message files in the same folder but with locale-based naming. For example, a message file containing French text would have the name Messages_fr.properties. This file need only contain the properties that need to be translated or changed, as any properties not contained in it are read from the default messages file. The correct file is loaded for an Open Client user based on the language preferences of the user's browser.

Note: You should not rename the Messages.properties file with a locale name because a user with a different locale will not get any properties set. The default Messages.properties file in your application folder must be considered as the default set of properties for all users.
