Accessing Images on a Server

How do I access images on a central server?

Images can be stored on a central server and accessed using UNC naming convention, and Open Client can access these images. For example, if your application images are accessed by the UNC path:

\\MYHOST\your directory\your directory\image dir\IMAGE_name

Open Client can access these images by following these steps:

  1. Create a MYHOST directory in the appResources directory.

  2. Under the MYHOST directory, create an appImages directory.

  3. Copy the required images into the appImages directory and it is important to maintain the path hierarchy. If you are running the Open Client Server on Unix, ensure the images names are in lower case.

  4. Using the Open Client Administration, add MYHOST to the Resource Path field on the Service Settings web page. You can also add an underscore prefix for lower case searching on Unix.
