Two conditions may exist where the Function Read BPS file may be required.  The first conditions exists when the user is required to work on functions off-line. The second condition exists when troubleshooting the function information passed from the bootstraps to the Forms Designer. 

To create a BPS file on function read the Windows Registry must be modified.  It is recommend you backup the Registry before modifying.  Use one of the following procedures to modify the Windows Registry:

Windows 95/NT (REGEDIT)

  1. Open the Registry Editor (Run REGEDIT).

  2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\McDonnell Information Systems\Forms Designer\Parser

  3. In the Parser data window, add a value.

  4. Select Edit menu/New/String Value.  The cursor is positioned in ‘Name' column.

  5. Enter CreateBPSLOnLoad (the value is case-sensitive).  Press <Return> <Return>.  The Edit String pop-up window displays. 

  6. Enter Yes in the Value data field.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Exit the Registry Editor.

Windows NT (REGEDT32)

  1. Open the Registry Editor (Run REGEDT32).

  2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\McDonnell Information Systems\Forms Designer\Parser.

  3. elect Edit menu/Add Value.  The Add Value pop-up window displays.

  4. Enter CreateBPSLOnLoad in the Value Name field.  (Do not change the Data Type field value of REG_SZ.

  5. Click OK.  The String Editor pop-up window displays.

  6. Enter Yes in the String field.

  7. Click on OK.

  8. Exit the Registry Editor.
