Function Keys Overview |
DEVELOPER |
There two hundred and seven (207) user-defined Function Keys available in a GUI environment (using the ID numbers 33 to 240). They can each be defined to do one of the following:
-
Call a Global Function.
-
Call a local group within the current function.
-
Execute a Global Logic.
-
Execute a Local Logic.
-
Exit the current function and enter a specified function.
User-defined Function Keys are defined at function level and are inherited from the calling group unless they are disabled at group level within the Group Definition screen.
User-defined Function Keys can be used in the following ways:
-
As response keys when s/icons are chosen.
-
As options on pull-down menus available from the toolbar.
A user-defined Function Key can only be used once in a function. Microsoft Window functions cannot associate user-defined Function Keys with menus. |
Local and global WS, WI and WD window functions each have their own Function Key table, and Function Keys, if required, must be defined locally (there is no inheritance in this case).
The first 10 of the user-defined Function Keys within the GUI environment are equivalent to the ten user-defined Function Keys available in the non GUI environment.
The first 10 user-defined Function Keys are be set up using the Terminal Type Characteristics Definition screen.
