Once the release is approved, it can be exported from the development region. An exported release can then be imported into the next region along the migration path. A release can be exported as many times as required provided it is not imported into the subsequent region. The information in the export file is rebuilt each time the export process is run.

If you want to export a release from the Change Management Console, right-click on the release and select Export Release to open the Release Export window. Move to step 3 below.

To export a release:

  1. Locate and select the release that you want to export on the Release Management Console.

  2. Click Export to open the Release Export window.
The details of the changes to be exported are shown.

  3. To display a list of objects to be exported, click Show Objects to open the Change Management Release Export- Objects Awaiting Export window.

  4. Click Exit to close this window.

  5. If you only want to transfer the objects that were changed since the last export, select the Transfer Changed Items Only check box.

  6. If you want to check the changes on the release, click Changes on Release to open the Changes on Release window.

  7. Click Exit to close this page.

  8. Click Proceed to export the release.

The date the release was exported is now shown on the Release Management Console. If you hover over it, the date and name of the user that exported the release is shown together with the date of approval and approver.
