- Maintain Function Routes

You can group a series of functions together and determine the path that the user follows through the group using the PROIV Aurora’s Routing functionality. A Route can be regarded as series of tasks that an Operator performs, e.g. create order, create invoice etc and you can set up a Route that follows this set of tasks.

To add a Function Route, follow these steps:

Click icon. The Menu screen appears.
Select the Security option.
Select the Maintain Function Routes option.
The Maintain Function Routes window appears.
Click New Route to create a new route.
The Name the New Route window appears.
Enter an identifier for the Function Route in the Route ID field. Enter a full description for the Route in the Description field. Enter details of the Fast Path in the Fast Path field and the Printer Override details in the Printer Override field f they are required.
Click OK to save the route details.
The cursor moves to the Exit Type drop-down list. Select the Exit Type for the Route item.
The cursor moves to the Exit Link drop-down list. Select the function or PROIV Function or Route that you want to run next in the sequence.
The cursor moves to the Error Type drop-down list. Select the PROIV Function or Route to be executed when the current function is exited in error.
The cursor moves to the Error Link drop-down list. Select the PROIV Function or Route that you want to run when the current function is exited in error.
Click to add the PROIV Function or Route to the Route. A message box appears prompting you to save the changes.
Click Save to save the Route details.

Updating a Function Route

Follow steps from 1- 4 in the Adding a Function Route procedure.
Select the relevant menu from the Route ID drop-down list.
The Route details are displayed in the Route Options section..
Click Add Item to add further details to the Route.
Click Delete Item to delete the item from the Route.
Click Save to save the changes to the Route.

Field Descriptions

Fields	Description
Route ID	Enter an identifier for the Route.
Description	Enter a full description for the Route.
Fast Path	Enter a name for the Fast Path. A Fast Path enables you to go directly to the Route by entering the Fast Path name in the Fast Path field on the PROIV Aurora Framework as an alternative to navigating through the menu structure. The Route’s Fast Path is detected by the Security Profile associated with the Menu that the Route is linked to and appears on the Maintain Security Profiles screen.
Search	Click to display the Route Search window, which enables you to perform a full text search to locate PROIV Functions (or Routes) in Routes. See the Searching for a Route section for more information.
Printer Override	Click the drop-down list to select a printer override option. You can decide to override the printer selection that may be set up in the PROIV Reports that referenced by the Route. There are several options available: None – Functions decide - the Route does not override the report’s Spooler settings and printer is determined by the PROIV Function’s settings. Printer Profile - selecting this option displays the Profile field which enables you to enter an existing Printer Profile. These are created via the Maintain Printer Definitions screen. User’s Selected Printer - outputs reports using the Printer Profile that is set against the Operator’s Security Class or on the Menu when running through the PROIV Client.
Column Headers
Seq	Displays the automatically generated sequence number of the Menu Option.
Exit Type	Displays the Exit Type.
Exit Link	Displays the Exit Link.
Error Type	Displays the Error Type.
Error Link	Displays the Error Link.
Route Entry Fields
Seq No	Displays an automatically generated sequence number for the Route entry.
Exit Type drop-down list	Select the Exit Type from the Option Type drop-down list. This specifies where the Route navigates to after the execution of the current function. The available types are: Function is a PROIV Function. Route is a path set up to enable navigation around functions. Mandatory
Exit Link	Click the ... to display the Function Selection window and select appropriate function for the Exit Link. Exit Links are the functions to be executed when the current function is exited.
Error Type drop-down list	Select the Error Type from the Error Type drop-down list. This specifies where the Route navigates to after the execution of the current function if the function is exited in error. The available types are: Function is a PROIV Function. Route is a path set up to enable navigation around functions.
Error Link	Click the ... to display the Function Selection window and select appropriate function for the Error Link. Error Links are the functions to be executed when the current function is exited in error.
Buttons	The s on the toolbar are disabled or enabled depending on whether a change has occurred. For example if you change a Function Route, the Save and Cancel s are then enabled.
Up arrow	Select a Route item and click the arrow to move the item up the list.
Down arrow	Select a Route item and click the arrow to move the item down the list.
Exit	Click the Exit to close the screen.
Save	Click the Save to save the Route details.
Cancel	Click the Cancel to cancel any changes to the Function Route and reset the screen.
New Route	Click the New Route to create a new Route. The Name the New Route window appears. Enter the Route details.
Remove Route	Click the Remove Route to create a delete Route.
Add Item	Click the Add Item to change the mode to Add and this is denoted with a + sign in the Seq field.
Delete Item	Select the Route item and click the Delete Item to delete the Route item from the list.
Print	Click print the selected Route Definition or all of the Route Definitions.

Searching for a Function Route

To search for a Route using a full text search, follow these steps:

Follow steps from 1- 4 in the Adding a Function Route procedure.
On the Function Routes screen, click the Search .
Enter the search text in the Search Text field.
Click Search to run the search. The search results are displayed.
Select a Route ID and click the Select . The Route appears.

Field Descriptions

Fields	Description
Search Text	Enter the text that you want to search for.
Search	Click to run the search. Any results that contain the search terms are displayed in the Search Results section.
Column Headers
Route ID	Displays the ID of the Route.
Seq	Displays the sequence number of the Route item.
Exit Link	Displays the Option ID of the Menu Option.
Error Link	Displays the Option Types: Function is a PROIV Function. Menu is a Menu Option. Route is a path set up for navigation around functions. URL jumps to a website.
Buttons
Details	Click the Details to display further details about the Exit and Error Link functions.
Select	Click to select the menu and to display details in the Maintain Menu Definitions screen.
Close	Click to close the Menu Search section.
Search Again	Click to clear the search and restart the search process.

Displaying Steps in a Route

Routes provide a way of controlling the execution of functions in a sequential way and you can see the order of the Routes in PROIV Aurora. The Screen List on the right hand side of the framework displays the steps in a Route.

To display the steps in a Route, follow these steps:

Click on the icon to expand the Infobar.
Click icon and select the Screen List.
The steps in a Route are displayed.
