A font name can be specified in a string literal or alpha variable.  The requested font name is passed to the Windows Client for translation into a suitable font for display.

If a level of indirection is required to insulate the PROIV developer from having to know the names of the fonts installed and active on each Client machine, the developer should use logical font names. The systems administrator should map those logical font names (and only those) to physical font names using the Windows Client Application Definitions file.  It is possible that Windows or the display sub-system may carry out a further level of mapping, outside of PROIV’s control.

The font name retrieved is always the same as the value set by the PROIV programmer, irrespective of any font mapping done by the operating system or display sub-system.
