If PROIV is installed on an NT Server or Workstation/Windows 95/98/2000, the destination of report outputs can be controlled centrally via the standard report spooling levels defined in the System Defaults ($SYSDEF) screen. As described earlier, logical devices can either be defined as physical devices, i.e. a network printer or local printer (printer port), a screen (CRT), or a file. (See Defining a Logical Device).
Under NT, a printer port can be redirected to a network printer using a system command similar to the following
NET USE LPT1:\\computername\printersharename
If a printer is a physical device, i.e. a network printer or local printer, set both the SPOOL OK and PHYS DEV flags to Y. Do not set the NTWK DEV flag, as this is used when printing to the PROIV Client.
Alternatively, you can redirect reports to logical printer devices defined in the printer table section of the pro4v[n].ini file. For the Windows NT Server environment, the pro4v[n].ini file resides in the WinNT directory. On all the Windows platforms, this file resides in the Windows directory.
