C-ISAM Features Not Supported

Indexes - Descending indexes or parts of indexes are not supported. Non-character types indexes, or parts of indexes, are not supported. PROIV does not provide the ability to add or remove individual indexes for an existing C-ISAM file.

Audit Trail - The C-ISAM Audit Trail facilities cannot be used from PROIV.

Clustering - The C-ISAM clustering facility for file reorganization (which reclaims disk space no longer used because of record deletions) cannot be used from PROIV. However, copying the contents of one file into a newly created file, and then using the new file, will achieve file reorganization.

File Locking - C-ISAM's file-level locking system is used only when clearing an entire file, otherwise record level locking is used.

Variable Length Records - Version 4.1 and later of C-ISAM allows the use of variable length records. PROIV does not support this capability.
