Accessing User-Defined Databases |
Virtual Machine |
User-defined databases in the pro4v[n].ini file are accessed by prefixing the database name enclosed in % (percent signs) to the PROIV alternate file name for the file.
For example, for a set of personnel files in the EMP database accessed by a PROIV server, the alternate file name for the EMPLOYEE file would be:
%EMP%EMPLOYEE
If an alternate file definition does not exist for a file, then the database defaults to 'boots'. For example, the bootstrap files do not have an alternate file definition, therefore if PROPATH is defined for the 'boots database', then when the bootstrap files are accessed the alternate path is used.
