Specifying Terminal Type Characteristics |

The Characteristics tab on the Terminal Type Properties window enables you to set up the characteristics of your terminal.
To specify the characteristics of your terminal, follow these steps:
Select Admin from the Developer menu.
On the Project Administration screen, select the Tools tab.
Select the Terminal Types icon from the Utilities section.
The Terminal Type Characteristics Definition window displays.
Select the relevant terminal type and either double-click, or click the Properties .
The Terminal Type Properties window displays.
Click Characteristics tab. Click here to see an example screenshot.
Enter the relevant details.
Click Exit to save the details and close the window.

Enter a description of the terminal. |

Screen Length |
The number of lines (rows) supported by the terminal, in hexadecimal |
Screen Width |
The number of columns supported by the terminal, in hexadecimal. |
Attach Printer |
Enter a hexadecimal representation of the commands necessary to attach the printer directly to the terminal. This value defines the 'AP' printer when it is called as part of spooling. Not all terminals support 'AP' printing. PROIV does not support 'AP' printing for those terminals where the hexadecimal representation of the commands necessary to attach the printer is more than 10 characters. |
Detach Printer |
Enter a hexadecimal representation of the system printer commands to detach the terminal printer. |
Cursor Type |
Enter the cursor address type, please refer to the hardware manual for your terminal. |
Colour Type |
Enter the colour type, this is normally the same as the cursor type. Set to 4 for Xenix colour. |
Cursor Control |

Cursor Address Type |
Enter the code used to produce the cursor on the screen. Values are 00, 01, 02, or 03. |
Cursor Address 1 |
Initiates escape sequences to effect the positioning of the cursor on the screen. |
Cursor Address 2 |
Allows Separator/Terminator commands to position the cursor on the screen. |

Clear Screen |
Enter command string in hexadecimal to clear the screen on demand. |
Clear Line |
Enter command string in hexadecimal to clear out a line from the present cursor position to the end. |
Bell Character |
Enter code in hexadecimal that plays the bell or beep function of the terminal. |
Backspace |
Enter code in hexadecimal that causes the backspace function to operate in a destructive mode. |
Erase Field |
Enter code in hexadecimal that clears the current field and returns the cursor to the first position of the field. |
