Maintaining Literals Text

The Literals are used in combination with the LITERAL_TEXT Logic Verb and provide a means of translating text strings. It is important to note that this functionality has been superseded by the Multilingual functionality and it is advisable that you use the ML Logic Verb instead.

To maintain the standard Literal Text Strings, follow these steps:

Select Admin from the Developer menu.

On the Project Administration screen, select the Tools tab.

Click the Literal Text Maintenance icon in the Utilities section.

The Literal text strings maintenance window displays.

Enter a unique ID for the Literal Text String and press the RETURN key to create a new entry. Alternatively, select the appropriate Literal ID from the Literal ID drop-down list and press the RETURN key to display the entry. Make any changes as required.

Enter details of the text string in the Literal Text field. This is the translation details that you want to hold against the Literal ID. Click here for more information.

Click Exit to save the details and to close the Literal text strings maintenance window.

Item	Description
Literal Id	Displays the unique Literal ID.
Seq	Displays the unique sequence number that is automatically generated for the Literal Text entry.
Literal Id	Displays the unique ID number for the Literal Text.
Literal Text	Enter the Literal Text details. This is the translation details that you want to hold against the Literal ID. If you are amending an existing entry, the details are displayed for you to change.
SearchString	Enter the details of the text string that you want to search for and press the RETURN key to display the results.
Reselect	Click Reselect to clear the window and restart the search process.
Exit	Click Exit to close the Literal text strings maintenance window.
