Select Admin from the Developer menu, select the Tools tab and select Archive Backups.

The Fields in this Window:

Directory/Path - Path and directory where the archive file will be created.

File Name - Name of the archive file.

Archive Backups Before - All backups of all object types made before this date will be archived to the above file.

Clear Archived - Check this box if you want to delete the backups once they have been written to the archive.

Archive  - Click to write the selected backups to the archive file, or Cancel to exit without archiving.

The amount of free space in the backup file is shown by the % Full figure in the backup/restore window. To reset this after clearing backups, the physical file (vipbm99.pro) needs to be reorganized. There are two methods for doing this:

  1. ispack vipbm99.pro

  2. isout vipbm99.pro, then delete vipbm99.pro, then isin the .out file

In both cases, no users must be using the PRO4 environment, and it is safest to copy the file first, so that it can be restored in case of a system crash while processing.
