This section describes the procedure for setting up an Operator record for an individual user of the system. The Operator record includes the user’s contact details, system logon information and their Security Class. The Security Class determines what they can see on the system, and when they can see it, as it is linked to a Security Profile.

To create an Operator, follow these steps:

  1. Click New Task Selection Icon icon. The Menu screen appears.

  2. Select the Security option.

  3. Select the Maintain Operators option.

  4. The Maintain Operators screen appears.

  5. Click New .

  6. Enter the contact details on the General tab.

  7. Click Security tab and enter the logon details for the Operator.

  8. Click Company/Divisions tab and enter the Co/Div details for the Operator. This tab is only displayed when you log on as the 'aurora' Operator.

  9. Select the appropriate settings for the Operator, using the following table as a guide.

Status

Displays a green tick and ‘Active’ if the Operator is active. Displays a red cross and ‘Inactive’ if the Operator is inactive. This is controlled by the Status radio group on the right hand side of the General tab .If set to Inactive, the user is prevented from logging on to the system.

Operator ID

Displays the Operator ID of the Operator.

Name

Displays the name of the Operator.

Work Phone

Displays the work phone number of the Operator.

General Tab

The tab enables you to enter details about the system user, including their name, and contact details. You can also specify whether the user is an active or inactive system user.

Operator ID

Enter the logon ID for the system user. The ID must be unique.

Salutation

Enter the salutation used for the Operator.

A6 – Non-Mandatory

First Name

Enter the first name of the Operator.

A20 - Mandatory

Middle Name

Enter the middle name of the Operator if known.

Last Name

Enter the last name of the Operator.

Preferred

Language

Select a language from the drop-down list to assign a preferred language to the Operator.

Please note that currently the PROIV Aurora Framework is not multilingual. The Multilingual functionality affects applications run via the PROIV Client if the Lexicon is enabled and translations are set up.

Enter the work phone number of the Operator.

Work Fax

Enter the work fax number of the Operator.

Enter the home phone number of the Operator.

Enter the mobile phone number of the Operator.

Enter the primary email of the Operator.

Enter the secondary email of the Operator.

Status

The Operator can be inactive or active in the system.

Active

Select to make the Operator active and able to log on to the system.

Inactive

Select to make the Operator inactive, which prevents the user from logging on to the system.

Security Tab

The tab enables you to assign an Operator Group to the Operator, which determines what Menu Options they can see, and when they can access the system.

Password

Enter the password for the Operator logon.

Expiry Date

Enter the expiry date of the logon details.

Logon Retries

Set the number of logon attempts allowed before the user account is made inactive. Entries can be between 1 -999.

N3 - Mandatory

Security

Question

Enter a question that only the user knows the answer to.

A40 - Mandatory

Security Answer

Enter the answer to the question posed in the Security Question field.

Operator Group

Select an Operator Group to assign to the Operator from the drop-down list. The Operator Group determines what they can see on the system, and when they can see it, as it is linked to a Security Profile.

Illegal Attempts Allowed

Set the number of attempts allowed to access functions that are unavailable to the user, before the account is made inactive.

Super User

Select to make the Operator a Super User. This means that they have access to every Menu Option associated with their Security Profile, rather than being limited to which items are enabled or disabled on the Maintain Security Profiles screen. However, they cannot access a Menu Option if it is not included on a menu linked with their Security Profile. They also do not have access to menus and options that they cannot navigate to from the Logon menu of their profile.

CTRL Break

Allowed

Click the check box to allow the user to CTRL BREAK to a Kernel Prompt.

Multi Logon

Allowed

Click the check box to allow the user to have one PROIV Aurora session and multiple PROIV Client sessions running concurrently.

Company

/Divisions Tab

The Company/Divisions section lists all of the available Co/Divs. The Operator must be assigned to a Co/Div. Note: This tab is only displayed when you log on as the Admin operator.

Column Headers

 

Available

Displays a green tick if the Co/Div is enabled. Displays a red cross if the Co/Div is disabled.

Co/Div

Displays the code of the Company/Division.

Description

Displays the description of the Company/Division.

Enable/Disable

Select the appropriate Company in the Company section and click the Enable . To deselect the Company, select the appropriate Company in the Company section and click the Disable .

Default Company

/Division

Click drop-down list to display a list of Company/Divisions, select one to assign as the default for the Operator. Mandatory

Buttons

The on the toolbar are disabled or enabled depending on whether a change has occurred. For example if you amend an Operator, the Save and Cancel s are then enabled.

Exit

Click the Exit to close the Maintain Operators screen.

Save

Click the Save to save the Operator record.

Cancel

Click the Cancel to cancel any changes to the Operators.

New

Click the New to create a new Operator record.

Delete

Click the Delete to delete the selected Operator record.

  1. Click Save to save the details, or click the Cancel to cancel any changes.

  2. Click Exit to exit the Maintain Operators screen.
