Configuring PROIV Assure

The PROIV Assure System Configuration window holds important information that determines the successful operation of PROIV Assure. After PROIV Assure is installed, valid default values are entered into the fields on the PROIV Assure System Configuration window. These can be amended if required but you are warned before the changes are saved, and the defaults can be restored by clicking the Restore icon.

You must specify the port and host details of where you have installed the PROIV Web Server. In addition, PROIV Assure creates numerous physical folders and files when it creates Recordings. Therefore, you must specify where you want to save the folders and files in the Recordings and Data Path field. If this path is changed, a warning message appears because if there are Recordings in the path, altering the details will cause severe problems. Finally, you must also specify the web application path. This is required as PROIV Assure is deployed as an application into the web server, and its path must therefore be configured for PROIV Assure to run correctly.

To configure PROIV Assure, follow these steps:

  1. Click Admin Options Admin options icon on the PROIV Assure Toolbar. Alternatively, select the Admin option from the PROIV Assure menu.

  2. Select the Configuration option.
The PROIV Assure System Configuration window appears.

  3. Enter details into the following fields.

Enter the absolute path on your file system to the appResources directory created during the Open Client installation. The appResources folder location is important because during the playback of a Recording, PROIV Assure must be informed if the method being called on the ActiveX object (tree, grid, etc.) returns a value. This information is held in the appObjects directory that is located beneath the appResources directory.

Cross-Reference: Open Client ships with a default set of resource files and these are located in the appResources folder. You can add your own images, objects, messages, and change the general look and feel of your web application by creating specific folders beneath this folder.
