Active Web is a convergence of two previous Concerto product releases. It brings the 'deploy anywhere' portability of Concerto Universal 3.5 together with the bundled server management framework of Concerto 3.0 to form a new unified product encompassing both of these key features in addition to new script objects, connectivity and further commitment to the open standards of J2EE and JNDI.
One of the main differences in Active Web is that the servlet can be deployed within a third party server as a web application, thereby utilising the server connectivity model of that container.
The following table outlines the key features available in previous versions of Concerto and in Active Web.
