PROIV Hostname or IP Address

Enter the details of the Virtual Machine host name or the IP address. If you are working locally, enter localhost in this field.

PROIV Username

Enter the user name for a successful login. During the kernel connection phase to a Windows kernel, this field is used to identify a PROIV INI section name or for PROIV versions 8 or later in PROIV .properties file. If there is no Default User section defined in the kernel INI/.properties file and no match is found for the supplied name, then the kernel will attempt a transparent logon using the supplied name as the PROIV operator name.

PROIV Password

Enter the password required for a successful login.

Remember Username or Password

Check the box to ensure that the user name and password details are remembered.

Connection Timeout (s)

The length of time (in seconds) that the Windows Client will wait between the connection attempt starting, and the text defined in the Command Prompt field being displayed after a successful login. If this time is exceeded, the Windows Client displays a telnet window for a manual login attempt.

Not Supported

Terminal Command

The time in seconds to wait for a successful connection to a PROIV Virtual Machine before displaying a telnet window for manual login. Defaults to 10 seconds.

Not Supported

Server Port

The port on which the remote host is listening for a client connection. This is usually 23 for a telnet connection. An SSL connection (a more secure connection using encryption) may use a different port.

Open Client Service Settings...Connection Settings...Server Port

Standard TCP connection

The connection to the host is via TCP/IP. This is the default connection.
