Icons can be used on menus and Screen Functions as a new form of input. Choosing an icon invokes a specific action depending on where it is used and how it is set up.
Icons can be created for:
Menu options. Choosing an icon calls the associated function.
Display-only fields. Choosing an icon results in an optional response string and Function Key (which can be user-defined) being sent to the input field.

Note: Icons cannot be used on input fields. Variable icon names can be used. This enables icons to be dynamically set in logic. |
In order for icons to be displayed on menus, you need to specify the name of the directory containing the icon bitmaps in the Directory containing Images field in the Default and Session Properties screen.
In addition, you can specify a default icon bitmap using the default icon setting in the PROIV initialisation file. This is used when an icon has been requested, but does not exist. User-Defined Function Keys
