Lite Client and Open Client

Although the Lite Client is browser-based like the Open Client, some of the features that are available in the Open Client are not available in the Lite Client.

Re-sizing

The Open Client component re-sizing when the browser is re-sized is not available. Lite Client uses the responsive fluid grid which re-sizes the width of components according to its own rules but does not re-size the height of components. Any PROIV max height or width properties are ignored.

Overlapping Components

PROIV components in a Lite Client screen are not allowed to overlap each other and any overlapping components may not be rendered. The fluid grid does not allow overlapping components.

Drag and Drop

The dragging of PROIV components is not supported in a Lite Client session. The PROIV Tree Control does still allow the user to drag its elements within the Tree Control.

Menus & Toolbars

PROIV menus and toolbars are not displayed in Lite Client but the data that they contain is made available within the browser through OpenAjax published messages (see OpenAjax Publish and Subscribe).

Right Click Menus

PROIV right click menus are not available for PROIV components but the paging area does have a right click menu.

Fonts & Colours

The PROIV properties that define fonts and colours for PROIV components are not used by the Lite Client. The Lite Client only uses the CSS defined in the browser to display the components.

Status Bar

There is no PROIV status bar displayed in a Lite Client screen but the data that is sent by PROIV to be displayed in the status bar is made available within the browser through OpenAjax published messages (see OpenAjax Publish and Subscribe).

Tablet Widget Assistant

The PROIV widget assistant displayed by the Open Client to help the user with PROIV keyboard actions that are not available in a tablet browser is not available in the Lite Client.

On Line Help

There is no PROIV online help display in a Lite Client screen but the data sent by PROIV for the help is made available within the browser through OpenAjax published messages (see OpenAjax Publish and Subscribe).

Charts

The PROIV Chart component is not available in the Lite Client.

Slider

The PROIV Slider component is not available in the Lite Client.

Spinner

The PROIV Spinner component is not available in the Lite Client.
