PROIV error messages are displayed in the usual way. There are, in addition, two error numbers located in system variables @ERR and @SYSERR that can be read to provide further information. @ERR is a numeric variable with a maximum length of five digits; @SYSERR is an alphanumeric variable with a maximum length of twenty characters. The @ERR error number is issued by PROIV, the @SYSERR error number is issued by C-ISAM; these are documented in C-ISAM Error Codes.
