Maintain Operator Groups

This section describes the procedure for creating an Operator Group. Operator Group link Operators with Security and Access Profiles. Groups act as a way of grouping users, and they share the same view and access to the system. Operators can have many Groups available to them, but they only have one assigned to them at a time.

To create an Operator Group, follow these steps:

  1. Click New Task Selection Icon icon. The Menu screen appears.

  2. Select the Security option.

  3. Select the Maintain Operator Groups option.

  4. The Maintain Operator Groups screen appears.

  5. Click New .

  6. The Add Operator Group window appears

  7. Complete the fields using the following table as a guide.

  8. Click Save to save the details.

  9. Click Exit to close the Maintain Operator Groups screen.

Field Descriptions

Fields

Description

Group

Enter the name of the Operator Group.

A8 - Mandatory

Description

Enter a description of the Operator Group.

A40 - Mandatory

Operators

Displays the number of Operators assigned to the Group.

Click to display the View/Amend Operators belonging to Group screen. The screen lists the Operators that are not assigned to the Group. Select the Operator that you want to add to the Group and click the Close icon to close the screen.

Defaults to ‘0000’

Status

Select a Status from the drop-down list.

A (Active)  I (Inactive)  S (Suspended)

Only one Group can be active for an Operator at a time, although they can have multiple Groups made available to them.

Security Profile

Select a Security Profile from the drop-down list to assign to the Group. It determines what Menu Options are available to the users.

System Title

Enter a title that appears at the top of all menus in Green Screen mode.

Default Printer

Click the … to display the Associate Printer Profiles with Operator Group screen. Click Printer Profile drop-down list to display a list of printers, select one and click the Add . The printer is now the default printer associated with the Group. If you want to associate multiple printers to the Group, repeat the selection process.  To change the default printers, select the printer that you want to make the default and click the Default . The details of the default printer are displayed in the User Information Bar.

Exit

Click the Exit to close the screen.

New

Click the New to create a new Operator Group

Amend

Click the Amend to change the selected Operator Group.

Delete

Click the Delete to delete the selected Operator Group.

Amending an Operator Group

To amend an Operator Group, follow these steps:

  1. Follow steps from 1- 4 in the Creating an Operator Group procedure.

  2. Click relevant Operator Group and click the Amend .

  3. The Amend Operator Group window appears.

  4. Amend the details as necessary.

  5. Click Save to save the changes.

Deleting an Operator Group

To delete an Operator Group, follow these steps:

  1. Follow steps from 1- 4 in the Creating an Operator Group procedure.

  2. Click relevant Operator Group and click the Delete .

  3. A check is performed to ensure that there are no operators assigned to the group before deletion occurs. An error message is displayed if there are.

  4. The Operator Group is then deleted.
