Adding Dashboard Components to the Default Aurora Layout

This section describes the procedure for managing components that are displayed on the Dashboard when you first log on to PROIV Aurora. Components are placed in Panels which are areas on the Dashboard.

 To add a Component to the default PROIV Aurora layout, follow these steps:

  1. Click New Task Selection Icon icon. The Menu screen appears.

  2. Select the Aurora Configuration option.

  3. Select the Maintain Default Aurora Layouts option.

  4. The Maintain Default Aurora Layouts screen appears.

  5. In the Profile drop-down list, select the appropriate Security Profile.

  6. In the Container drop-down list, select Dashboard.

  7. A list of Panels appears in the Panels sections. Click on a Panel and any components that currently in the Panel are displayed in the Panel Components section. You can add, modify and delete Panels in the Panels section. You can add modify and delete components from the Panels in the Panel Components section.

  8. Click Add to add a panel.

  9. The Add a Panel window is displayed.

  10. Select the Panel type from the Type drop-down list. 1-4 are Dashboard panels.

  11. Amend the name and width details of the Panel if required in the Title and Width fields.

  12. Click OK to save the details. The component is now displayed in the Panels section.

  13. To add a component to the newly created Panel, select the Panel and click the Add in the Panels Components section.

  14. The Add a Component window appears.

  15. Select the component from the Name drop-down list.

  16. Enter a name for the Panel component in the Title field.

  17. Enter a height for the Panel component in the Height field.

  18. Select the Collapsed check box if you want the component to display collapsed initially.

  19. Select the Locked check box if you want to lock the component and cannot be repositioned on the desktop.

  20. Click Save to save the details, or click the Cancel to cancel any changes.

  21. Click Exit to exit the Maintain Default Aurora Layouts screen.

Viewing the Changes

New users who log on for the first time with the amended Profile will see the added component in the Dashboard.

Existing users must select the Settings panel and click the Reset to view the new default layout.

Adding a Component to the Sidebar

This section outlines how to incorporate pre-existing Dashboard components into the Sidebar as part of the default layout.

To add a Component to the default PROIV Aurora layout, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the steps 1-5 mentioned above.

  2. In the Container drop-down list, select Sidebar.

  3. Click Add to add a Panel.

  4. The Add a Panel window is displayed.

  5. From the Type drop-down list, select a Panel Type of 5 or 6, which are the pre-defined Sidebar panels.

  6. Amend the name and width details of the Panel if required in the Title and Width fields.

  7. Select the Selected check box to ensure the Sidebar panel is opened by default. if more than one is selected, then the one highest in the list takes precedence

  8. Click OK to save the details. The component is now displayed in the Panels section.

  9. To add a component to the newly created Panel, select the Panel and click the Add in the Panels Components section.

  10. The Add a Component window appears.

  11. Select the component from the Name drop-down list.

  12. Enter a name for the Panel component in the Title field.

  13. Enter a height for the panel component in the Height field.

  14. Click Save to save the details, or click the Cancel to cancel any changes.

  15. Click Exit to exit the Maintain Default Aurora Layouts screen.

Viewing the Changes

New users who log on for the first time with the amended Profile will see the added component in the Sidebar.

Existing users must select the Settings panel and click the Reset to view the new default layout, log off and log back on to PROIV Aurora to see the updated Sidebar.

Description

Panels

This section enables you to add, modify and delete areas on the Dashboard and sections in the Sidebar.

Column Headers

 

Seq

Displays a unique automatically generated sequence number for the Panel.

Panel Title

Displays the title of the Panel.

Buttons

 

Add

Click the Add to display the Add a Panel window.

Modify

Click the Modify to display the Modify Panel window. This is enabled if a Panel is selected in the Panels section.

Delete

Click the Delete to delete the selected Panel.

Up

Click the Up to move the selected Panel up the list in the Panels section.

Down

Click the Down to move the selected Panel down the list in the Panels section.

 

 

Panel Components

This section enables you to add, modify and delete components from Panels.

Column Headers

 

Seq

Displays a unique automatically generated sequence number for the Panel component.

Component Title

Displays the title of the component

Buttons

 

Add

Click the Add to display the Add a Component window.

Modify

Click the Modify to display the Modify Component window. This is enabled if a Panel is selected in the Panels section.

Delete

Click the Delete to delete the selected Panel.

Up

Click the Up to move the selected component up the list in the Panel Component section.

Down

Click the Down to move the selected component down the list in the Panel Component section.

 

 

Exit

Click the Exit to close the screen.

Save

Click the Save to save the details of the layout.

Cancel

Click the Cancel to cancel any changes to the layout.

Fields

Description

Type

Select the panel type from the Type drop-down list. 1-4 are Dashboard panels.

Title

Enter the name of the Dashboard panel.

Width

Enter the width of the Dashboard panel.

Description

Type

Select the panel type from the Type drop-down list. 5-6 are Sidebar panels.

Mandatory

Title

Enter the name of the Sidebar panel.

A80 – Non-Mandatory

Width

Specify the width of the Panel. Components fit the full width of the Panel it is contained in.

N12 – Non-Mandatory

Selected

Select the check box to ensure the Sidebar panel is opened by default. If more than one is selected, then the one highest in the list takes precedence.

Note: If the Aurora Security and Menu option is not used, then this screen can be run directly from the PROIV Prompt or from a 3rd party menu by executing the @AU_MaintainDefaultLayout function.
